Cooking is one of my favourite activities. It evokes memories of my dear mother, who loved to cook, and of my ‘Mennonite’ heritage, with aunties and cousins who take pride in making delicious foods.
Cooking appeals to my senses, with appealing aromas and cheering colours. On the chilly days of fall, winter, and spring in Canada, cooking is a comforting way of keeping warm. In the summer, fresh cool vegetables and fruits combined in artful ways taste so refreshing!
What we put into our bodies should be healthful and nutritious as well as promoting the health of our planet earth. Knowing the food values of ingredients is my way of nourishing the people I cook for.
